E. Jennifer Esses, M.D.

Dr Esses received her combined B.A./M.D. at Boston University by graduating from their Six Year combined Medical Program (completing undergraduate and medical school in 6 years instead of eight). She was the youngest member of her medical school class, starting at age 19.  She graduated from Boston University Medical School, cum laude, in 1993. She is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.

In 1997 she completed her Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the United States Air Force at Wright State University/Wright Patterson AFB combined program in Dayton, Ohio.
She was next stationed at Eglin AFB and served there for 4 years, finishing her AF career as Flight Commander.

She began her Private Practice in 2001, essentially hanging up a shingle and starting her own solo practice. She moved her practice to Sandestin in 2007 to help start the Family Birth Place and served as the Medical Director for the first two years of the program's inception.

Dr. Esses has been Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecologysince 1999 and recently underwent Re-certification.
She is currently the only Board Certified OB/Gyn delivering babies at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast.

Dr Esses is happily married with two sons. She is an active member of her church, Niceville United Methodist. Dr Esses enjoys running especially pushing herself in races; she has completed numerous half marathons and a few triathalons. She also enjoys scrapbooking, singing, and is a published author.
